there has money raised for this again and again and again, and just to add about 50 spaces i am told.
what happened to the previous donated funds...?/

We, at UKIM ALFURQAN masjid are comitted to serving the community for the sake of Allah and not for any personal business and the hearts are knows to Allah subhanahu wa ta'aala, in front of whom we believe we are going to be responsible, inshallah.
In regards to your question, how many more funds are required?
We can only say what the reality and the truth of the matter is and with Allah rests all the knowledge.
We started at the estimation of only about £400K, that is all.
This was the initial and original fugure given to us by all the quantity servayers and others who would have lenthy meetings and discuss every possible value of the public money.
As we believe that we are going to be standing in front of our Lord who is going to be asking us about this public money/funds that we collect every Friday and on different other occasions and which you brothers and sisters are donating to this house of Allah.
Alhamdulillah, up to date we have every single peny recorded in our accounts which are always available for any body to view, which we again very strongly believe and are committed to, is their right.
However, unfortunately, due to the nature of the building industry and the uncertainity this sector has, NO one is able to give an exact figure ever.
I would like to draw your attention to the Scottish Parliament's building, with all sofisticated measures avalaible, they fail to estimate the true cost and look at what happened. Here is qotue from the Vikipedia "The construction of the Scottish Parliament Building has generated controversy in several respects. Rising costs and the use of public money to fund the project generated most controversy.Initial estimates for constructing a new building were projected to be between £10m and £40m in 1997. By early 2004, the estimated final cost of the project was set at £430m, some ten times greater."
So please brothers and sisters pray Allah that this project is completed which is a future for our coming generations as we are going to have all the necessary things that interest our youth in attracting them to masjid, inshallah.
we are also going to have special place for our sisters to carry on their own activities and Islamic circles, and also for New-Muslims.

Jazakallah Mostaqeem Shah br. for such good efforts there. It was a petty that I could not meet you in the UK in 2004. Anyway, I really miss you and do stay in contact. yahya
